Caroline Elizabeth Dilley, 67, passed away peacefully after her courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on Saturday, February 9th, 2019 at the Brownsburg Health Care Center in Brownsburg, Indiana; her loving husband Scott was by her side. Caroline was born on July 10th, 1951 in Clearwater, Florida to the late James Porter and Katherine Mosley. Slight in stature but big in personality, “Pee-Wee” had a joyful heart and a playful spirit: she loved a good joke, and her genuine, down-to-Earth personality could make anyone feel at ease around her.
She married the love of her life, Scott, in Clarksville, Tennessee on March 30th, 1985, and together they raised six children. As an active duty Army wife, Caroline held down the fort during deployments and long separations, and her adventurous spirit loved the new experiences that came with travelling around the world. Nothing brought her greater joy, however, than finally settling down in a small farm town in Kansas to finish raising their children and to make a home. She could spend hours outside, gardening and working in the yard, and took pleasure in crafting, knitting, and crocheting. She loved fishing and camping, playing games with her family (where she may, or may not, have fudged the rules a time or two), and never lost her lifelong love of the beach.
One of her proudest personal achievements was returning to high school so that she could earn the diploma she had always regretted not completing earlier; she graduated as an honors student from Clintondale High School in Clinton Township, Michigan in 1995. In doing so, she inspired her children to never give up on their dreams, and showed them that education was worth the hard work and sacrifice, no matter your age. True to her caring, compassionate nature, Caroline worked as a nursing assistant in care facilities, operated her own daycare, and offered hospice care in her local community.
Caroline leaves her loving husband Scott Dilley, her sons James Meadors, Henry Meadors and wife Barbara Meadors, Eric Dilley and wife Krystle Dilley, Matthew Dilley and wife Carrie Dilley, and Adam Dilley, and daughter Kathy Lillich and husband Morgan Lillich. She was the loving grandmother of Jordan, Dakota, London, Madison, Savannah, Charlie, Jackson, and Bailey, and was the adoring aunt of her nieces and nephews. She leaves her loving sister Wanda Hartley and husband Dwight, and will be missed by her many friends. Caroline has joined her late parents, sister Vivian Stanley, brother Wayne Porter, beloved in-laws Shirley Davis and Edward Dilley, and her cherished daughter-in-law Linda Meadors, in eternal peace.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46250. Indiana Funeral care entrusted with care.

Caroline will be remembered as a sweet, lovely lady, who was always ready to offer a big smile and a hug. Shirley and I enjoyed spending time with Scott and Caroline on many occasions.
